How many of you update your business portrait every year? I am very guilty of NOT doing this. I prefer to be behind the camera, not in front, as in reality, I do not photograph well. I have some issues that will be very prominent if the person behind the camera just snaps a quick shot. I need someone with experience to make my image worth seeing.
The last time I had an image taken was almost ten years ago, and I was so excited when I saw it. The photographer knew what she was doing, and did not emphasize the parts of me that were very flawed. In other words, she was a professional who knew about posing, lighting, and camera settings.
Regardless, it is time for ME to update my image. What about you?
Below are two different types of business portraits.
The first two offer a more carefree, casual look and the others are more professional. Both are great for your business headshot, but it depends on what you want to do with your images and what message you are trying to convey to your clients.
What do you want people to see when they view your head shot? What message do you want to convey?
These are great questions to ask as knowing that will provide your photographer with the information he or she needs to give you the look you want.
Your headshot can make a great first impression or none at all. It is one of the most important factors that showcases who you are.
Basic head and shoulder images are best for use on a website, linkedin, or facebook. And, as you can see, you can have Business Portraits taken with your co worker!
Often, we work with companies who host a head shot event for their employees, or for vendors and friends who work with the hosting company. At one of our bookings, the company managers were flying in from all over the country for a meeting. It was the only time they would be together, so what better day to have a Head shot event. Those images were to be used on their website, for marketing purposes, and for use at speaking events.
So, as you can see, there are many purposes for Business Portraits-not just a basic head shot for your facebook business page!
