2020 has seen it's share of negatives and extreme challenges, especially for local, small businesses. If you are a small business owner, you understand what I am talking about. A chamber that I am very proud to be a part of, the Yorkville Chamber of Commerce, has created YorkvilleYES, Yorkville Explore Support, to help small business owners stay open!

Basically, all you have to do is visit a participating Yorkville business between Jan. 1 and Feb. 14, 2021 and fill out a form to win a gift card! It is that simple.

This promotion is one way to encourage you, the consumer to shop local in order to help a small business stay in business. Songs of Life is participating, of course, along with several other Yorkville area businesses.

I encourage you to visit these businesses, fill out the form, and then see how you can support them. Whether that is by purchasing a gift card, using their services, or purchasing one of their products.

The phrase, "we are all in this together", is not very true globally. But, it is true with small businesses. Take a look at the Yorkville Chamber site that lists participating businesses and see how you can help them stay open, take care of their employees, and make a living.
